POINTS: Points are tallied up based on sessions. If you wrote 40 words in a session, that’s 3 points. If you then took a break and got back into it an hour later, and write 1000 words on that session, that’s 32 new points. This stacks onto your previous points, and you now have a total of 35 points.The point you get from a writing session is always rounded down. If you wrote 500 words, that’s rounded down to the closest point of 16. If you wrote 1000 words, that’s rounded down to the nearest point (which is 32). Points are never rounded up.SESSIONS: One session is defined as putting words on the paper (digital or otherwise, yes including audio if you want to burden yourself with counting that) within 15 minutes on the same project. If 15 minutes or more has passed between word 1 and word 2, that’s two different sessions. If you switched projects inside a session, you’ve now also started a new session.Points do not stack inside a session. If you write 100 words during a single session, you don’t get points for the 10, 20, 40, & 80 goals you hit. You only get the single point from hitting 80 words (remember, we’re rounding down), which is 4 points.However, points from different sessions stack. So if you got 1 point in session one, and you wrote 600 words for session two which is 16 points, you now have 17 points total. If you did 10 writing session in a day and got 4 points each time, you’d get 40 points total that day.RESET: An optional mode based on your own preference. You can choose to do no resets ever, and just keep racking up points. Or you can reset...- Daily: If you reset your points to zero every day, that’s where your leveling cap is. You choose yourself if you want to reset or not.- Monthly: If you reset your points to zero every new month, that’s where your leveling cap is. You choose yourself if you want to reset or not.- Yearly: If you reset your points to zero every new year, that’s where your leveling cap is. You choose yourself if you want to reset or not.You can of course also completely reset your progress (your total points count) at any given time.3.0 VS 4.0:STO 4.0 is, aside from the leveling system, identical to STO 3.0. It uses the same modifiers and the same beast battle mode (though I'm considering lowering the points you win in battles in 4.0).Currently, I have adjusted the level at which the beasts unlock for 4.0, however the actual rewards and the battle mode modifiers are the same.Likewise, it doesn't currently have any quests or items, but if I do incorporate them into 4.0 as well, I'll need the points rewards to be drastically increased. The only reason battle mode etc. exists in 3.0 is because there needs to be lots of way to make a lot of points very quickly, otherwise leveling becomes impossible. Since 4.0 doesn't such a severe need for that, I'm hesitant on how/if I want to introduce those aspects. But if I do, the points rewards for everything will need to be drastically reduced.

MODIFIERS: Modifiers are optional settings you can enable to make leveling more interesting. Because the first 10 levels or so are deceptively easy to reach, but then it gets progressively harder at an astonishing rate!However, even with all the plus modifiers enabled, getting to a high level still entirely depends on simply writing a lot. Doing the math, the modifiers sadly can’t make up the shortfall once you’re level 10+.It’s up to you whether to reset your progress or not (i.e. your Total Point Count) every time you enable or disable a modifier.MODIFIERS: Goal Reward- Daily Goal: Determine a daily goal. There’s no minimum nor maximum (yes, it can literally be 1 word). Every day you meet that goal you receive two (2) extra points toward your leveling. So if you meet it every day, that’s an easy 60 points a month!- Monthly Goal: Determine your monthly goal. Every month you meet this goal, you get 60 points. (So if you manage this goal + your daily, you can get 120 points a month!)- Yearly Goal: Determine a yearly goal. Every year you meet this, you’ll gain 5000 points!MODIFIERS: Punishment- Daily Goal: Failure to meet your pre-determined daily goal results in a loss of 2 point.- Monthly Goal: Failure to meet your pre-determined monthly goal results in a loss of 60 points.- Yearly Goal: Failure to meet your pre-determined yearly goal results in a loss of 5000 points.

BATTLE MODE: Activate battle mode for more points!Battle mode is simple; you chose a beast to fight and if you win, you get a set number of points. However, if you lose, you get no points at all. In addition, battle mode negates a regular session; that is to say, while battling you get no session points regardless of if you win or lose. So if you lose, you now have gotten nothing.Starting a battle ends your previous session, and you’ll tally those points up. Then, you choose yourself what to fight.Beasts unlock at different levels (but once they’re unlocked they can be played at any level!). Battle mode also has modifiers of their own that you can use to make things more interesting!MODIFIERS – BATTLE MODE EDITION:- Challenger Protocol: Cuts the beasts battle time (but crucially not the word count) down by half. But in exchange, if you win you get double the points! So if you fight Normal Pixie in challenger, you now have only 5 minutes to write 100 words but if you win, you get 20 points. If you fight Friendly Cactus in challenger, you now only have 30 minutes to write 1500 words, but you’ll win 1000 points!- Hellish Protocol: If you lose a battle with the hellish protocol activated, you lose points equivalent to those you would have won. So if the beast had a win of 80 points and you lost the battle, you lose 80 of your own points. So not only did you not win and not get any session points, you also outright lost points. Ouch.
